WCBPA: Vote Yes for Our Union to Win Fair Pay & Protections

What is the WCBPA?

The Women's College Basketball Players Association (WCBPA) is a division of the United College Athletes Association (UCAA) working to win a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that gives us a real voice and raises the floor for WBB players.

Why do we need a union?

The NCAA is broken because it's a professional business with an amateur structure. As a result, players have no protections, no revenue share floor, and no voice in the business. Just like WNBA players, we need a union to win a CBA that raises the floor for our lives, our game, and our future.

What can we win?

The WNBPA already showed us the power of a union when they won a new CBA that increased average salaries from $125,000 to $583,000, which is a 467% salary increase. The union also increased the supermax from $249,000 to $1.4M. If the pros could win these gains with their union, then why can't we? The time is now to follow their lead.

Why now?

The time is now because the NCAA is lobbying Congress to pass the SCORE Act, which would strip us of our basic labor rights, make it impossible to unionize, and forever block WBB from securing a CBA.

Our CBA goals:

1. Safety Mandates To secure enforceable protections for our health and safety 2. Academic Protections To protect our scholarships and academic freedoms 3. Fair Pay via CBA To achieve a fair share of revenue, labor rights, and CBA.

Our Members:

- Oluchi Okananwa (Maryland) - Charlisse Leger-Walker (UCLA) - Brooke Daniels (Michigan) - Destiny Howell (Wisconsin) - Jenna Villa (Oregon State) - Audi Crooks (Oklahoma St.) - Jada Williams (LSU) - Raegan Beers (Oklahoma) - Hayven Smith (Illinois) - Malia Samuels (USC) - Grace Sullivan (Northwestern) - Savannah Samuel (Georgia Tech) - Tori McKinney (Minnesota) - Abbey Schreacke (Mizzou)

Will my coach support?

Possibly. Coaches are desperate for stability and enforceable rules. Collective bargaining gives them what they want and makes their lives easier, so they can focus on coaching instead of NIL. That's why ADs at Tennessee, Ohio State, and TCU support a CBA. Learn more on AP News.
